COOS BAY | REVITALIZING PROJECT

The Coos Bay Historical Maritime Museum (CBHMM) is a private, not-for-profit organization supported by memberships, donations and grants. Currently the museum has relocated to bring "awareness of the region with significant cultural and economic benefits for all."

It was important for CBHMM to have a photojournalist from the outside to see Coos Bay with fresh eyes to see the revitalizing community. The decline of the lumber and shipbuilding industry caused both a strain on a community in economic stress but, also the pride of residents in Coos Bay. Both aspects are reflected in my work. Images will be on a rotating display to help educate locals and tourists.
